Nissan to transfer Russian assets to state ownership in November

MOSCOW, Oct 14 (PRIME) -- Car producer Nissan will transfer its Russian assets to the Central Scientific Research Automobile and Automotive Engines Institute (NAMI) of the Industry and Trade Ministry in early November, Russian Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov told reporters at the Russian energy Week forum on Friday.

“The closing of the Nissan deal is expected in early November, taking into account all necessary approvals,” he said.

On Tuesday, Nissan's executive committee approved the sale of its Russian assets, Nissan Manufacturing Rus to the Russian government, with a buyback option within six years. The assets are the production and research facilities of Nissan in Saint-Petersburg, as well as the sales and marketing center in Moscow.
